HMAS Creswell Redevelopment Project.
Advise to the local Shoalhaven Business Community of the redevelopment project and specific websites and files with additional information. The budget for the project has been approved by Cabinet as $83.6m. Subject to Parliamentary Works Committee approval of the project, likely to come early next year. Design can be continued with construction expected to start in the second quarter of 2008.
The budget of $83.6m includes the trade costs as well as design and professional fees; design and
construction allowances; escalation allowances; and contingency.

All trade works will be tendered.
To be eligible for Commonwealth government funded works, trade contractors, consultants and material suppliers must be compliant with federal legislative requirements. The two fundamental requirements include:
- Compliance with the National Code of Practice for the Building and Construction Industry; and
- Accreditation with the Federal Safety Commission.
Both of these are compliance schemes are administered by the Dept of Employment and Workplace Relations.
The Defence engaged Managing Contractor will be engaged with the community to assess local industry capacity and capability and will also workshop these legislative requirements. Advise of these legislative requirements is posted below::
Defence Infrastructure and Asset Development representatives will have further engagement with the Shoalhaven Business Chamber as they move into the trades procurement stage of the project and will liaise with the Shoalhaven Business Chamber Executive to present all employment and economic opportunities from this development to the Shoalhaven Business community. .
